"Preach the gospel at all times, if necessary use words." ~Francis of Assisi
I'm James T Wood and I am passionate about great preaching. Too often I've seen good sermons derailed by terrible use of visuals. If anything, the visual medium should amplify and enhance the sermon, not distract from it. It's so bad that many people are ready to give up on using images altogether, but I don't think that's the problem.
The real problem is that we don't really know how to use images to enhance our communication. It's a different skill set than we've learned. We're good at exegesis and hermeneutics, but graphic design and computers are a different story. The good news is, it's not hard to do, but it will take some time to do well.
My goal is to help you learn how to present well. We've all learned how to craft a sermon, but there is a lot more to presenting than just sermon work. For the sake of the gospel and the church, it is up to us to learn how to "become all things to all people so that by all possible means we might save some."
Learn from my years of experience both as a preacher and a user of PowerPoint. I've been a professional computer training and I currently work as a PowerPoint consultant. I'll share with you what I've learned (and the mistakes I've made) so you can have truly powerful presentation.
