25 Year History of PowerPoint (spoiler, a lot of it is boring)

PowerPoint was born in 1984 (made famous by George Orwell and Apple), and ever since then it's been a fantastic, crazy, exciting road. Well, there's been a lot of tedium in the mix:

In the past 25 years, I've asked hundreds of people how many PowerPoint presentations they've seen that came across as really inspiring and enthusiastic.
Most struggle to come up with a single example, and the most optimistic answer I've heard was "two," said Max Atkinson

There is a lot of work that needs to be done in order to overcome a quarter century of terribleness being foisted off on PowerPoint audiences around the world. It's bad, but it doesn't have to stay bad.

What do you think the future holds?
